Sarah Ahmad is a multidisciplinary artist based in the US. Ahmad has exhibited internationally—from Tulsa’s Gilcrease Museum; Bates College Museum, Maine; Glyndor Gallery, Wave Hill, and CUNY’s James Gallery, NY—to the Sharjah Art Museum, UAE; Lahore Museum, Alhamra Arts Center, Lahore, and the Koel Gallery, Karachi, Pakistan. Her work appeared in Delhi Contemporary Art Week; the Asia Triennial, Manchester, UK; Lahore Literary Festival and the Lahore Biennial. Her work has featured in mainstream, art, and academic publications (USA Today, NPR’s Gallery America, PBS NewsHour; ARTnews, Bomb; American Alliance of Museums; MIT Press). Ahmad’s socially engaged work has been funded by awards including the Andy Warhol Foundation and Bloomberg Philanthropies. Ahmad is a former Tulsa Artist Fellow (2019–23), and has held numerous other residential fellowships, including: Santa Fe Art Institute; International Residency Fellow at NARS foundation in Brooklyn (both 2024); and Virginia Center of Creative Arts 50th Anniversary Fellowship (2023). She earned a BFA from the National College of Art, Lahore, and an MFA from the Memphis College of Art.
